A Resolution To Request The Franklin County Budget Commission To Grant The 0.65 Mills In Available Inside Millage To The Village Of Riverlea, Ohio

WHEREAS, there is additional inside millage available for distribution by the Franklin County Budget Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Riverlea historically has relied upon estate tax distributions and local government fund distributions to fund a significant part of the current operating expenses of the Village, but such funding sources have been or will be reduced or eliminated in the current or future years; and
WHEREAS, Council for the Village of Riverlea has determined that additional funds are needed to fund the current expenses of the Village, including the amounts necessary to pay the costs of such investigation and testing, and any identified repair requirements, as well as for the maintenance and operation of parks and streets in the Village, and Council desires to designate a funding source to assist in the payment of those expenses.
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved By The Council Of The Village Of Riverlea
Section 1.. That the Village of Riverlea hereby requests that the Franklin County Budget Commission grant the additional inside millage of 0.65 mills to the Village of Riverlea to be allocated to the General Fund.
Section 2.. That the Clerk-Treasurer and/or the Mayor of the Village of Riverlea is authorized and directed to submit a certified copy of this Resolution to the Franklin County Budget Commission.
Section 3.. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting in compliance with Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
Section 4.. That pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 731.25, the Council of the Village of Riverlea hereby determines that publication of this Ordinance in a newspaper is unnecessary and does hereby determine that this Ordinance, or a summary of this Ordinance, shall be published by posting copies of this Ordinance or a summary hereof in the five following places which are determined to be the five most public places in the Village of Riverlea, Ohio:
- The Circle on West Riverglen Drive.
- The Ravine Park on West Riverglen Drive.
- The Northwest corner of Beverly Place and Dover Court.
- Lot 75 on West Riverglen Drive.
- Lot 7 on West Southington Avenue.
Council of the Village specifically authorizes the Clerk-Treasurer, in lieu of the publication of this Ordinance and all of the attachment hereto, to publish a summary of this Ordinance and its attachment as permitted by Ohio Revised Code Section 731.21, provided that the Clerk-Treasurer shall deliver a complete copy of this Ordinance and its attachment to any person requesting the same upon payment by such person of the actual costs incurred by the Village to prepare such copy. Copies of this Ordinance or of the summary of this Ordinance shall be posted continuously in the above-mentioned places for a period of fifteen (15) days.
