Public Information
Architectural Review Board (ARB) meetings are held on the second Monday each month at 7:00 pm, pending the need to meet. The ARB does not do building inspection, only architectural review and zoning compliance. All Village residents are welcome and encouraged to attend the meetings.
Regular meeting: November 12, 2012
A meeting of the Village of Riverlea Planning Commission was held November 12, 2012 5830 Falmouth Court. Members present were Michael Jones (Planning Commissioner), Bryce E. Jacob and Donald P. McCarthy. Jo Ann Bierman and Lisa J. Morris were absent. Also present were Duncan Aukland, Diane Aukland, Duane Draughon (driveway designer), Joyce Durnford and Bob Rashid. Pamela M. Colwell served as Clerk. The Planning Commissioner called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.
- The minutes of the Planning Commission meeting of October 8, 2012 were not read since each member had received a copy. Jacob moved and McCarthy seconded the motion that the minutes be approved as submitted by the Clerk. The following vote was recorded on the motion: Yea, 3, Jacob, McCarthy and Jones: Nay, None. The Motion carried 3-0.
- An application for a Certificate of Appropriateness by Duncan and Diane Aukland at 5789 Crescent Court to replace their driveway with pavers and add a turnaround. The pavers will be permeable in a custom red color (rustic red, autumn and terracotta blend) with a granite color border. The turnaround (extension of the driveway in front of the garage) extends 10 feet beyond the garage corner and ends 19 feet from the property line. There will be no curb cut or apron replacement. McCarthy moved and Jacob seconded the motion to approve the application as submitted. The following vote was recorded on the motion: Yea, 3, Jacob, McCarthy and Jones: Nay, None. The Motion carried 3-0.
- Application for a Certificate of Appropriateness by Joyce Durnford at 37 West Southington Avenue to install a five foot high scalloped picket fence in the back. The fence is made of red cedar with 2 inches between the pickets. The neighbors bordering the fence have signed a document approving of the fence. Jacob moved and McCarthy seconded the motion to approve the application as submitted. The following vote was recorded on the motion: Yea, 3, Jacob, McCarthy and Jones: Nay, None. The Motion carried 3-0.
The Commission took no additional action. Jacob moved and McCarthy seconded a motion to adjourn. The motion was approved unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 7:13 pm.
