Public Information

Architectural Review Board (ARB) meetings are held on the second Monday each month at 7:00 pm, pending the need to meet. The ARB does not do building inspection, only architectural review and zoning compliance. All Village residents are welcome and encouraged to attend the meetings.

Regular meeting: May 9, 2011

A meeting of the Village of Riverlea Planning Commission was held May 9, 2011 at 5830 Falmouth Court. Members present were Michael Jones (Planning Commissioner), Jo Ann Bierman, Bryce E. Jacob, Lisa J. Morris and Donald P. McCarthy. Also present were Robert Rashid and Josh Schoenberger. Pamela M. Colwell served as Clerk. The Planning Commissioner called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

  1. The minutes of the Planning Commission meeting of April 11, 2011 were not read since each member had received a copy. Jacob moved and Morris seconded the motion that the minutes be approved as submitted by the Clerk-Treasurer. The following vote was recorded on the motion: Yea, 5; Bierman, Jacob, McCarthy, Morris and Jones: Nay, None. The Motion carried 5-0.
  2. An application for a Certificate of Appropriateness by Joyce Durnford and Robert Rashid at 37 W. Southington Avenue to replace a wood deck with a flagstone patio at the back of the house. Robert Rashid gave the presentation. The patio will be 5 feet longer and 5 feet deeper than the deck. There will be no seating wall. The flagstone is autumn brown. They are working on a five year landscaping plan and have already removed some undesirable trees and bushes. Jacob moved to approve the application as submitted with the condition that they come before with Planning Commission with any landscaping plans. Bierman seconded the motion. The following vote was recorded on the motion: Yea, 5; Bierman, Jacob, McCarthy, Morris and Jones: Nay, None. The Motion carried 5-0.
  3. An application for a Certificate of Appropriateness by Josh and Erika Schoenberger at 250 W. Riverglen Drive to replace the back patio doors with Therma Tru French doors and to install a picket fence. Josh Schoenberger gave the presentation. The French doors will have stationary side panel windows. The picket fence will be white vinyl and 36 inches high. Morris moved and Jacob seconded the motion to approve the application as submitted. The following vote was recorded on the motion: Yea, 5; Bierman, Jacob, McCarthy, Morris and Jones: Nay, None. The Motion carried 5-0.
  4. The Commission took no additional action. Jacob moved and Bierman seconded a motion to adjourn. The following vote was recorded on the motion: Yea, 5; Bierman, Jacob, McCarthy, Morris and Jones: Nay, None. The Motion carried 5-0. The meeting was adjourned at 7:16 pm.
