Public Information
Architectural Review Board (ARB) meetings are held on the second Monday each month at 7:00 pm, pending the need to meet. The ARB does not do building inspection, only architectural review and zoning compliance. All Village residents are welcome and encouraged to attend the meetings.
Regular meeting minutes: March 21, 2017
A meeting of the Village of Riverlea Planning Commission was held March 21, 2017 at the Evening Street Elementary School. Members present were Bryce Jacob (Planning Commissioner), Janet Brown, and Robert Davis. Also present were Suzanne Butler, Paul Butler, Jason Holton, Robert Becker, and Mike Sheridan of Owens Construction. Joshua C. Mehling served as Clerk. The Planning Commissioner called the meeting to order at 7:01 pm.
- The minutes of the Planning Commission meeting of February 13, 2017 were not read since each member had received a copy. Brown moved and Davis seconded the motion that the minutes be approved as submitted by the Clerk. The following vote was recorded on the motion: Yea: 3, Brown, Davis, and Jacob; Nay: None; Abstain: 0. The motion carried 3-0.
- An application for a Certificate of Appropriateness by Christen Coyle and Jason Holton at 120 Riverglen to extend the current screened in porch at the rear of the house. The current patio will not be replaced or removed. The addition to the porch will have the same roof line and screen as that of the current.Davis moved to approve the Certificate of Appropriateness and Brown seconded this motion. The following vote was recorded on the motion: Yea: 3, Brown, Davis, and Jacob: Nay, None. The Motion carried 3-0. A street bond will be required for this project.
- An application for a Certificate of Appropriateness by Robert Becker at 142 Riverglen to add a second story addition to the rear of the house. The materials of the addition will match those currently on the house and there will be no effect on lot coverage from this addition.Paul Butler, whose driveway adjoins the driveway of this house, expressed concerns about damage to his driveway, given damage that was done to his driveway during a previous construction. This was caused by construction equipment and trucks that parked in their driveway and/or used it to access the house under construction. Mike Sheridan of Owens Construction explained that this project would be significantly smaller than the previous one during which the damage occurred. The equipment used will be smaller and the dumpster will take up less space. In addition, he ensured that there would not be any equipment or vehicles on the Butlers driveway at any time. A street bond will be required for this project.
Brown moved to approve the Certificate of Appropriateness and Davis seconded this motion. The following vote was recorded on the motion: Yea: 3, Brown, Davis, and Jacob: Nay, None. The Motion carried 3-0.
Davis moved and Brown seconded a motion to adjourn. The motion was approved unanimously (3-0). The meeting was adjourned at 7:23 pm
