VILLAGE OF RIVERLEA
SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
JULY 4, 2007
THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF RIVERLEA MET ON THE ABOVE DATE AT THE VILLAGE HALL IN THE CIRCLE PARK ON WEST RIVERGLEN DRIVE TO DISCUSS, REVISE AND/OR ENACT THE VILLAGE TAX BUDGET FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2008. THE FOLLOWING COUNCIL MEMBERS WERE PRESENT: MARY JO CUSACK, MAYOR; PAMELA M. COLWELL; SCOTT K. GORDON; JOHN A. SCHAER; RODNEY TETTENHORST AND PAUL J. ZENISEK. ALSO PRESENT WERE PATRICIA A. ANDERSON AND DAN E. OWENS, CLERK-TREASURER. THE MAYOR CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AT 10:05 A.M.

THE CLERK-TREASURER PRESENTED THE DRAFT OF THE VILLAGE TAX BUDGET FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2008 AS PREPARED BY THE INVESTMENT & AUDIT COMMITTEE. COUNCIL REVIEWED THE BUDGET IN DETAIL. CONCERN WAS EXPRESSED ABOUT THE DECREASE OR LOSS OF ESTATE TAXES, CABLE TV FRANCHISE FEES AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT FUNDS. SCHAER MOVED AND COLWELL SECONDED A MOTION TO ADOPT THE BUDGET AS SUBMITTED. THE FOLLOWING VOTE WAS RECORDED ON THE MOTION: YEA, 5; COLWELL, GORDON, SCHAER, TETTENHORST AND ZENISEK: NAY, NONE. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0.
ZENISEK STATED THAT HE WOULD ATTEMPT TO ATTEND A PUBLIC MEETING DEALING WITH THE PROPOSED MERGER OF THE STATE SCHOOLS FOR THE DEAF AND BLIND AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF EXCESS PROPERTY.

THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS, TETTENHORST MOVED AND ZENISEK SECONDED A MOTION TO ADJOURN THE MEETING. THE FOLLOWING VOTE WAS RECORDED ON THE MOTION: YEA, 5; COLWELL, GORDON, SCHAER, TETTENHORST AND ZENISEK: NAY, NONE. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. THE MEETING WAS ADJOURNED AT 10:17 A.M.
