- An application for a Certificate of Appropriateness by Brian Grim at 5851 High St to remove and replace the existing 4 car garage on the property. Grim explained that the current garage had been built in 1938 and though he typically tries to remodel existing buildings, the current garage was too small and had deteriorated to the point it needed to be replace. The new garage will sit on the existing footprint and will have 9 foot doors, carriage lights that match those on the building out front, and exterior keypads for entrance. The new garage will have a mono-pour and will be framed using board and batten exterior painted the same color as the brick on the building. The plans showed that the roof would be rubber on the back and dimensional shingles on the face, but further discussions concluded that there will be dimensional shingles on the front and back that will match the slate on the building as closely as possible.
AEP will relocate the pole near the existing garage to allow space for the construction of the new garage. There are currently no plans to replace the existing gravel driveway.
