RESOLUTION NO. 2024-07

A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION TO RETIRING COUNCILMEMBER SCOTT GORDON FOR HIS OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO THE RESIDENTS OF THE VILLAGE OF RIVERLEA, OHIO

 

Introduced by Mayor Dan Schlichting.

WHEREAS, Scott Gordon has completed twelve years of continuous service to the residents of the Village of Riverlea, Ohio, as Councilmember and Chair of the Communications Committee; and

WHEREAS, Scott Gordon has generously and selflessly given his time and talents to serve the interests of the Village of Riverlea and its residents; and

WHEREAS, Scott Gordon has taken a leadership role with the Communications Committee, which has been compiling a directory of the residents of the Village, and

WHEREAS, in these and other efforts, Scott Gordon has performed his responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner, all with a remarkable spirit of collegial professionalism, and has thereby exemplified the ideal of public service.

 

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF RIVERLEA, OHIO, THAT:

Section 1. On behalf of the citizens of the Village of Riverlea, Ohio, the Village Council hereby offers its gratitude, appreciation and thanks to Scott Gordon for his many years of continuous service to the Village of Riverlea, and for his dedication and efforts on behalf of the residents of the community.

Section 2.         EFFECTIVE DATE.  That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after the earliest date permitted by law.

Section 3.        OPEN MEETINGS.  This Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this Resolution were taken in an open meeting of this Council and that all deliberations of this Council that resulted in those formal actions were in meetings open to the public in compliance with law.

Section 4.        PUBLICATION.  That pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 731.25, the Council of the Village of Riverlea hereby determines that publication of this Resolution in a newspaper is unnecessary and does hereby determine that this Resolution shall be published by posting copies hereof in the five following places which are determined to be the five most public places in the Village of Riverlea, Ohio:

  1.      The Circle on West Riverglen Drive.
  2.      The Ravine Park on West Riverglen Drive.
  3.      Lot 194, 286 Beverly Place.
  4.      Lot 75 on West Riverglen Drive.
  5.      Lot 7 on West Southington Avenue.

Copies of this Resolution shall be posted continuously in the above-mentioned places for a period of fifteen (15) days and at the expiration thereof this Resolution shall become effective.
