Village Council Resolution No. 2014-15

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE CITY OF COLUMBUS FOR LEGAL REPRESENTATION IN CERTAIN CRIMINAL AND TRAFFIC CASES
Introduced by __________________________ WHEREAS, the village council of the Village of Riverlea deems it necessary to provide legal counsel for the Village, for its mayor and council and to provide compensation for such legal counsel during parts of the calendar years 2013 and 2014

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF RIVERLEA, STATE OF OHIO:

Section 1. AUTHORIZATION TO EXECUTE CONTRACT. That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized and directed on behalf of the Village of Riverlea, Ohio, to enter into an appropriate Agreement with the Columbus City Attorney’s Office for provision of certain legal services for the period from January 1, 2015 through December 31, 2015. The Village shall pay a flat fee for such legal service for each matter or case undertaken, plus certain other additional charges and reimbursement of expenses, generally in accordance with the schedule attached as Exhibit A to this Resolution entitled “Columbus City Attorney’s Office, Prosecutor Division – 2015 Billing Structure”.

Section 2. APPROPRIATION. That the funds necessary to carry out the purposes of this Resolution have heretofore been appropriated.

Section 3. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from the earliest date permitted by law.

Section 4. OPEN MEETINGS. This Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this Resolution were taken in an open meeting of this Council and that all deliberations of this Council that resulted in those formal actions were in meetings open to the public in compliance with law.

Section 5. Section 5. PUBLICATION. That pursuant to the provisions of Section 731.25, Ohio Revised Code, the Council of the Village of Riverlea hereby determines that publication of this Resolution in a newspaper is unnecessary and does hereby determine that this Resolution shall be published by posting copies thereof in the five following places which are determined to be the five most public places in the Village of Riverlea, Ohio:

  1. The Circle on West Riverglen Drive.
  2. The Ravine Park on West Riverglen Drive.
  3. The Northwest corner of Beverly Place and Dover Court.
  4. Lot 75 on West Riverglen Drive.
  5. Lot 7 on West Southington Avenue

Copies of this Resolution shall be posted continuously in the above-mentioned places for a period of fifteen (15) days and at the expiration thereof this Resolution shall become effective.

WHEREUPON, this Resolution was adopted this 20th day of October 2014.
